Three Membership Options:

Pre School Parents – $30 per family per year. Come and see what homeschooling is all about. You are welcome to attend Fellowship Fridays, age-appropriate Fieldtrips, and Family Events. To sign up for this option, your oldest homeschooled child should be younger than 5 years by September 1^st. Please note that we do use this September 1 rule of thumb at each grade level.

Volunteering $80 per family per year. 1/2 Membership refund can be earned by volunteering. See Volunteer Coordinator. This group provides a LOT of activities and they can only be done with the help of the membership (thank you!). Please pray about whether or not you have the time to help out this year. For this option, your oldest homeschooled child should be in Kinder and 5 years old by September 1^st.

Regular Membership Fee of $80 per family per year. We love the help from volunteers and the opportunity to get to know our members better by working alongside them, but we know that some years it is easier to give your time than others. For this option, your oldest homeschooled child should be in Kinder and 5 years old by September 1^st.

After Aug 1^st, the Membership fees increase by $10 ONLY FOR RETURNING MEMBERS.

Please note that only paid members can view the Membership Directory and it is helpful to us if you will allow other members to see the ages and grade levels of your children. Also, if you select "No" on the forums, you will miss out on many announcements about activities. Rather than selecting "No", just choose the ones that pertain to your family.

Something New!!! A place to input your childrens' emails. We are really excited that we now have the OPTION to send emails to your teens' addresses too! This will only be done when an event applies to them - like a Youth Event.

10. Conduct Guidelines:

Any members or leaders of HH who persist in violating these conduct guidelines may have their membership revoked by a two-thirds vote of the Executive Committee.

While we are participating in Harlingen Homeschooler (HH) meetings, fieldtrips, and activities or events, we will be representing the Lord Jesus Christ, HH, and homeschoolers in general. We will be judged by our attitudes, behavior, and dress therefore the following guidelines should be followed:

1. Members should be aware of the reflection they are placing on HH by the way they dress. Clothing should be conservative and inoffensive. (no profane language or graphics on clothing). Beginning in 6th grade and up...Shorts should be mid-thigh or longer. No bare midriffs, tank tops, cleavage, or tights without shorts or a skirt.

2. Member families will act in such a way that their words and actions promote the unity and encouragement of other HH families.

3. Member families will avoid acting in such a way that is considered disrespectful, offensive, immoral, intimidating, rude, or in any way which may bring reproach on the organization or home education.

4. Member families will be responsible for their own children’s behavior to ensure they are acting in accordance with these conduct guidelines.

In consideration for being accepted by Harlingen Homeschoolers for participation in their homeschool enrichment program, we (I), being 21 years of age or older, do for ourselves (myself) and on behalf of our (my) child(ren) who are participating, hereby release, forever discharge and agree to hold harmless Harlingen Homeschoolers and those responsible for the facilities being used by Harlingen Homeschoolers, and the directors, teachers, employees and agents thereof from any and all liability, claims or demands for personal injury, sickness or death, as well as property damage and expenses, of any nature whatsoever which may be incurred by myself and/or child(ren) is/are participating in any Harlingen Homeschoolers event.

Furthermore, we (I), and on behalf on our (my) child(ren), hereby assume all risk of personal injury, sickness, death, damage and expense as a result of participation in recreation and work activities involved therein.

Payment Instructions

Our yearly membership dues are $80 for regular members and volunteer members. Volunteers, after having earned 8-10 points off the volunteer rubric, will receive half of their membership back in the form of a refund. Preschool membership is $30 per family per year. You have the option of mailing in a check or paying via Paypal for your convenience. If you send in a check, please make it out to Harlingen Homeschoolers and mail it to:
